I sometimes complete an 8 mile circuit on my bike from Ely via the Fenland village of Coveney. Yes, I can still manage to do this. Wherever you are on the route, you can more or less always see the ‘ship of the fens’ just on the horizon. On the road to Little Downham I pass by flat open fields and agricultural farmland; visual changes are usually confined to farming activity, weather conditions and seasonal transitions. I enjoy the peace, the tranquility and serenity……its good for the soul (if we have one)……today was different.
Peter, a very apocalyptic feeling from this image.

Yes, I live in a rural area outside Cambridge and I ride my bike most days around the local country roads near Ely. I just came across this burnt out vehicle by chance, a very unusual and unexpected sight on these very quiet roads. I nearly always carry my camera, you just never know.
